Covered by Eligible Insurances
Many eligible patients with diabetes may qualify for therapeutic diabetic shoes and inserts through insurance when medical necessity and documentation requirements are met. Coverage depends on the patient's insurance plan, diagnosis, qualifying foot conditions, documentation, plan rules, and approval.
Medicare and many plans may require specific documentation, a qualifying diabetic foot condition, medical necessity, and certification from the provider managing the patient's diabetes. Wigley Feet helps coordinate this process, but coverage is not guaranteed.

Diabetic shoes are designed to reduce pressure, protect the skin, accommodate foot deformities, and help lower the risk of rubbing, irritation, ulcers, and wounds in high-risk diabetic feet.

Who May Qualify for Diabetic Shoes?
Patients may qualify for diabetic shoes if they have diabetes and certain foot-risk conditions such as a current or previous foot ulcer, pre-ulcerative calluses, foot deformity, poor circulation, neuropathy with callus formation, or prior partial foot/toe amputation. Coverage and documentation requirements vary by insurance plan.
